The Ministry of Energy, Trade, and Industry in Cyprus has opened a public consultation on its groundbreaking “Grant Scheme to Encourage the Use of Renewable Energy Sources and Energy Saving in Homes 2024-2025,” administered by the RES and EXE Fund
Under the proposed plan, homeowners can apply for grants in various categories, including photovoltaic installations and roof thermal insulation. The plan aims to incentivize green initiatives and make sustainable living more accessible. Key categories include Photovoltaic – General, Photovoltaic – Vulnerable Households, Photovoltaic for All, Roof Insulation – General, and Roof Insulation – Vulnerable Households.
Notable changes from the previous plan include the introduction of the “Photovoltaic for All” category, allowing citizens without initial capital to benefit from solar installations. A special roof insulation category for vulnerable households with increased sponsorship has also been established. The process has been streamlined, reducing paperwork for applicants, and only registered merchants can carry out the installations.
The Ministry emphasizes that the attached draft is for consultation purposes, subject to potential modifications before final approval and implementation.
